What is Taste Skill?

Taste Skill is a set of Agent Skills for frontend work. The default skill (design-taste-frontend, v2, marked experimental) reads your brief, infers a design language and tunes 1–10 dials such as layout variance. Other skills redesign an existing UI, apply a chosen style (minimalist, soft, brutalist) or work image-first. Installs with npx skills add or as a Claude Code plugin.

Why use Taste Skill?

  • Installs as individual Agent Skills (npx skills add) or as one Claude Code plugin, with every skill namespaced under taste-skill:.
  • One skill per job: redesign an existing project, commit to a visual direction, or generate reference images first and code from them.
  • MIT-licensed and actively maintained (last push October 2026).

Limitations

  • The default skill is v2 and labelled experimental; pin design-taste-frontend-v1 if you depend on the original behaviour.
  • It shapes visual style, not correctness: accessibility, performance and responsive behaviour still need your review.
  • The image-generation skills only output reference images and need an image-capable model.
